If any of the following appeal or apply to you, then you should be considering one of Long Island FURY's Summer Development Camps.
Fighting for a competitive edge during this year's volleyball try out.
Looking to earn that starting position.
Knowing you must go the extra mile to win the county championship.
Hoping to learn as much about volleyball at ANY age.
Each summer, Long Island FURY offers a top-notch opportunity for player development. We bring together some of our region's most reputable coaches to Long Island's most impressive high school. Hosted at Eastport-South Manor's state-of-the-art (and air-conditioned) facilities, we offer two one-week day camps. Our camps are truly open to ALL CAMPERS.
This year, we are hosting two sessions that are defined by age/grade. The first camp (session #1) is a developmental camp designed for girls entering 8th grade or younger (campers as young as 3rd grade have attended in the past). Due to the significant difference in age/maturity at this session, campers are split into age-similar groups so that age-appropriate instruction can take place. The second session (session #2) is a high-performance camp designed for girls entering 9th through 12th grade.
The atmosphere of the camp is kept fun yet competitive. But if our campers leave with dry shirts, we wouldn't be doing our job very well. Our focus is on high-intensity volleyball training and proper physical conditioning.
Drills are both position-specific as well as team-specific and are easily modified to fit all ages and ability levels.
To register for one of this year's sessions, please contact Coach Consorte, via email, at wg99@aol.com or by phone at 631.775.0446.
Designed to supplement our day camp (not replace it), FURY is once again running a beach training camp for selected campers and previous club players. Players are training in the restrictive confines of deep Long Island sand, and very quickly learn the importance of proper form and explosive movements. While this four-day camp does focus on proper form and conditioning, it mostly allows the girls to compete in the sand - this is where the true learning takes place.
Generally speaking, campers with club or varsity experience are preferred. This will allow for us to keep the level of play as high as possible. For additional information, please contact Coach Cuccinello at mcuccinello@optonline.net.
FURY Summer Camp '07
Last year's summer camp was once again a huge success as nearly sixty girls were in attendance. FURY would like to thank this year's campers for their hard work and wish them luck in their upcoming high school seasons.
