Typically, age groups correspond with the following grade-levels: 18s: high school seniors 17s: high school juniors 16s: high school sophomores 15s: high school freshmen (and advanced 8th graders) 14s: should gym space allow, we will host a 14s tryout in late November/early December. However, any 14s (middle school players) that would like to try out for 15's are more than welcomed. **There are some exceptions to the age/grade connections, so plan to verify team selection at tryouts.
Notification: FURY will post offers within 24 hours of the end of tryouts. We will then be holding our signing meeting shortly thereafter. This is a mandatory meeting to attend with a parent (or both) to join the club and will be announced at tryouts. Should an offered player not show at the signing meeting (without an agreement in place), another offer may be made to a previously cut player.

CONTRACT SIGNING MEETING - TBD
1. Plan to arrive
with a parent to our Contract Signing Meeting on TBD at TBD in the ESM cafeteria. As the possibility always exists for an
unfortunate change of availability by the school, please be sure to check our
website periodically.
2. Immediately following the meeting, all teams will
have their first practice in the gym from 8-10.
3. For the meeting, the following needs to be
accomplished: ~ execution of contracts ~ preparation of player information sheets
including sizing for uniforms and gear ~ a brief team meeting by your coach(es) **Additionally, we will be offering a parent gear
order on this date only. Parents
may choose to purchase either a long-sleeve dri-fit shirt or a coaches collared
shirt (available in both men’s and women’s cuts and sizing). Please come prepared to pay for these
optional items at the meeting (pricing still pending at this time).
4. Prior to
arriving to the meeting, please be sure you have accomplished the following: ~ Switched
your GEVA registration over to FURY
~ Fully
registered with GEVA (not just the $10 tryout registration some choose)
5. PAYMENT: On Wednesday, please arrive with one of two payment options…
Option
#1: Arrive with payment in full.
Either a check made out to “Long Island FURY Volleyball” or cash will
work.
Option #2: Arrive with three checks.
One will be dated present-day, the other two will be dated January 31,
2015 and February 20, 2015 (be careful with the year!). A finance fee of $50 is included in the
payment plan (though it is actually a savings for those paying in full). A cost breakdown for payment plans are
as follows:

6. As an absolute last resort, if you cannot attend the
contract signing meeting, you can email us at mcuccinello@optonline.net and we
can send you the contract to print, sign, and send in with your daughter. However, I cannot stress the importance
of being present at the meeting as there is a considerable amount of important
information to be addressed.
7. If you do not make a team, but wish to be
considered as an alternate should someone not accept, please contact Coach

To bring with you to tryouts....
1. You MUST have registered electronically with GEVA.org. Click here for information on how to do this.
2. You must have a COMPLETE USA Volleyball Medical form (you access this as part of your registration with GEVA).
3. Your $60 tryout fee.
4. Athletic clothing (t-shirt, spandex/shorts, kneepads, water, etc.) to wear during your tryout.
5. A parent for a brief meeting.
**DO NOT PAY YOUR GEVA REGISTRATION FEE. Should you make a team, it is including within your FURY tuition. We pay it, not you!
The necessary paperwork to bring with you is extremely important. Be sure to arrive with everything required.
2008-2009 GEVA/USA Volleyball Registration Forms
All players are required to register as a new junior player on the GEVA website. While the process it simple, please first read and print the instructions (I know we all typically skip this step - don't!). Then go to the registration page and register as a NEW USER. The entire registration process is completely online. You must print your registration form as well as your medical release (AND COMPLETE IT WITHOUT BLANKS!!!), and bring them both with you on the first day of tryouts.
DO NOT PAY THE $40 FEE!! This fee is included in your tuition, should you make one of our teams.

Tryouts for Grades 7 and 8 (our 14's team) will take place in December/January. If you wish to try out for our 15's team, you are free to do so. Any tryout fee will happily be applied to the 14's tryout. More information to follow. Please continue to check our website for additional details...
